Grand opening of swimming pool De Neul
On 30 January 2022, the brand-new swimming pool De Neul in Sint Oedenrode was opened by local alderman van der Pas. She did this standing on a movable pool floor of Variopool. The new pool is characterized by its warm appearance, user-friendly and safety features and is based on the latest technical developments. In the design by de Windgroep architects, user-friendliness was paramount, but a great deal of attention was also paid to the choice of materials, acoustics, layout, maintenance aspects and sustainability.
With a target group pool and 6-lane competition pool, it is also a fully-fledged pool and therefore also suitable for water polo and other swimming competitions. With an energy label of A++++, this pool is also the most sustainable municipal building in all of Meierijstad. The cladding of peppel wood on the inside and outside the building, in addition to all the sustainability technology, is a good example of this. When the new swimming pool in Veghel is ready, and the recently renovated De Molen Hey swimming pool in Schijndel, the indoor swimming facilities in Meierijstad will be in excellent order again!
A user-friendly swimming pool
To accommodate as many residents as possible, both the competition pool and the target group pool are equipped with a ramp. The ramps provide easy and comfortable access to the pools, but also allow wheelchair users to get in and out of the water independently. A hoist can also provide assistance. In addition to these options, both the target group pool and the competition pool have a movable floor which further increases the possibilities of the pool.
In the target group pool, a unique feature has even been added! A number of colorful fountains that take turns spraying water upwards. This is fun for young and old.
Safety first
To minimize the risk of (near) drowning, all pools are equipped with a drowning detection system. This system acts as a kind of third eye of the lifeguard and signals and warns swimming pool staff and the public when there is a risk of drowning. On the wall of the competition pool hangs a beautiful LED screen where, in addition to the time, the competition times or commercial messages can be displayed. In short, swimming pool De Neul is ready for the future.
